FAQs
General Information
What is Ominous Descent?
Ominous Descent is a professional outdoor haunted attraction that fully immerses you in terrifyingly realistic sets with live actors and heart-pounding scares.
Whether you enjoy being scared or being amazed by creative sets and immersive storytelling, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Where is Ominous Descent located?
Ominous Descent is located at The Winter Haven Moose Lodge in Winter Haven, FL.
2305 Havendale Blvd NW
Winter Haven, FL 33881
Who is hosting the event?
We are. Although we are operating on the property of The Winter Haven Moose Lodge, everything you see is produced by Ominous Descent. Our team has been professionally creating immersive experiences and scaring people for over 10 years. It's the same Ominous Descent that hoped to open in Bartow in 2017. It's the same Ominous Descent that operated in Plant City from 2017 to 2019. And now we are back in Winter Haven...with a vengeance.
How long does it take to go through?
Most guests spend about 8–10 minutes inside, depending on group size and how fast you move through the attraction. It’s best to walk at a normal walking pace.
For safety, we ask that guests do not wait anywhere inside the haunted trail nor should they run.
Is it really scary?
Yes, it’s really scary. Ominous Descent is designed to be intense and frightening. We use live actors, special effects, lighting, sound, and even smells to create a truly immersive horror experience.
The Scare Factor rated us #4 scariest in the nation (2019) and #1 scariest in Florida (2024, 2019).
Is this a haunted maze?
No, we do not use the word “maze” as it implies guests have to search for an exit. We do our best to ensure guests follow the intended path.
Many reviewers will use “maze” to describe the layout of the haunted trail, but we prefer saying path or layout.
